Create an anchor link

Topic covers how to create and insert an anchor link (also known as a jump link). Anchor links enable you to jump between content on a page.

Create anchor link

  • Edit the component of where you want to link to
  • The following example is for the Heading component at the top of a page:

  • Add a name for your anchor. For example: top
    • This needs to be lowercase, first character a letter, and no spaces
  • Select the Copy anchor link button
  • Button changes to 'Anchor copied':

  • ‘Anchor copied’ button turns green for a moment

Insert an anchor link

  • Edit the text component from which you want to jump to the anchor
  • Type in meaningful text for the anchor. For example: Back to top
  • Highlight the text
  • Go to the link icon in the editing ribbon. This is circled in yellow on the following image:

  • Paste the copied anchor link into the Link URL field
  • Select the green tick
  • The text on the preview page turns to blue and is underlined:

  • The anchor link can be tested after Save and Exit editing
