Create a custom header and footer
Site Owners and Site Administrators can create a custom header and footer to override the default site header and footer. This may be useful if and area of the site requires different branding.
Finding the settings
- Go to the 'Settings’ tab and select 'Header and Footer’.
- On the 'Header/Footer' page, click on the blue 'Add Header/Footer' button.
- This will take you to a 'Create Header/Footer' window. From here you can create either a header or a footer.
Creating a custom header
- In the edit pane, add a header name in the 'Title' field.
- In the preview pane, click the blue plus icon and select 'Header'.
- A pop-up window will appear. Enter your 'Header title' (usually your website name) and click 'Apply'.
- Continue editing in the edit pane and upload an (optional) site logo. See editing a header to learn more.
- Click 'Save' and then 'Exit editing' to preview your custom header.
Creating a custom footer
- In the edit pane, add a footer name in the 'Title' field.
- In the preview pane, click the blue plus icon and select 'Footer'.
- A pop-up window will appear. Set the footer width using the drop-down menu and click 'Apply'.
- Edit the footer in the preview pane by hovering over each component element (in a light blue box) and clicking the blue plus icon to add the component. See editing a footer to learn more.
- Click 'Save' and then 'Exit editing' to preview your custom footer.
Selecting a menu
A navigation menu can be chosen using the 'Menu' drop down in the Edit header pane. Menus appearing in the drop down list are created in the 'Settings' > 'Menu' area of the Fresco Admin screen.
